Missing or invalid inputs never produce a passing result.

What this calculator checks

Compare loaded trailer mass with ATM and your effective towing limit. Check ball load, vehicle GVM and combined GCM. Add kerb and tare figures for optional payload estimates.

Vehicle while towing = vehicle before hitching + ball load.
Combined mass = vehicle before hitching + whole trailer mass.
Trailer axle-supported mass = whole trailer mass − ball load.

“Within limit” applies only to the entered ratings. GTM, individual axle loads, brakes, tyres, distribution and manufacturer restrictions are not checked. Verify actual weights and all applicable requirements before towing.

Where do I find my numbers?

Use vehicle manuals, compliance information and towbar/coupling ratings. Use a weighbridge for loaded masses and suitable equipment for the coupling load. Check conditional towing limits in your manual.
