Why is the ball load added to GVM?
The towing vehicle carries the downward coupling load. Enter your vehicle mass before hitching so the calculator can add it once.
Why is ball load not added to GCM?
The whole trailer weight already includes the ball load. Vehicle mass before hitching plus whole trailer mass counts each kilogram once.
Can I use a hitched vehicle weighbridge reading?
Subtract a reliably measured ball load to obtain the vehicle mass before hitching. Do not enter a hitched vehicle reading unchanged; that would count ball load twice in the vehicle check.
Does “Within limit” mean I can tow safely?
It only means your entered values are within the particular ratings checked. Estimates, missing checks and real-world loading still need verification. Check axle loads, GTM, tyres, brakes and manufacturer conditions separately.
Does the calculator save my rig?
No. This version does not store calculator inputs in browser storage or send them to a TowReady server. Refreshing the page clears your entries.
Is the iOS app available?
The iOS app is in development. The website will be updated with a genuine App Store link when it is available.
